Waves Campsite has been operating as a holiday park for over 20 years. Formerly known as Chartridge Holiday Park, it was relaunched as Waves Campsite by new owners in 2013.
Family history, and an interest in the hospitality business, encouraged Sheila Black (owner/operator) to purchase Waves in December 2014. We operate as a family lifestyle business with a focus on providing a down-to-earth (no frills), spacious, rural camping experience.
The rural location continues to be improved to exploit the surrounding views of the Kaituna valley, hills and the Kaituna river bordering the property.
Sheila spends her days working to maintain and improve the facilities for our visitors. She loves to ensure that campers have time to socialise and recharge while making the most of activities available in the vicinity of the Pelorus Sound.
With the insight gained from many years of overseas work and travel, it is a great privilege to welcome both New Zealanders and international visitors to Waves Campsite to share stories and enjoy the space to relax. This includes the spacious deck with great views (see photos below).
The day-to-day management of the camp is provided by Reann O'Neill, who ensures a warm welcome and efficient introduction to the facilities.
Reann's previous experience in holiday parks and the hospitality industry provides a friendly face to assist with any number of holiday queries, suggested visitor destinations and helpful knowledge of local services.
Both Reann and Sheila have been resident in the Marlborough/Pelorus area for over 20 years and there is the odd local around, if you get chatting, to provide a holiday hint or two.
